How 'Velvet Vanity' Shuts Down On All Other Local Liquid Lipstick Brands

From experience some of our local products can be a little lacking when it comes to quality with heavy smudging just after a few hours of wear that give you funny lips right in  the middle of a dinner party. Which can get exhausting having to explain that your completely fine and it's just my lipstick that decided to betray me. But my newfound love for Velvet Vanity's liquid lipsticks feels very different and exiting.

When I first heard about Velvet Vanity a couple of years ago, I thought to myself: "oh great, another failed attempt." Don't get me wrong, I fully support the local industry and advocate for others to do the same, but I do sure hope brand owners will always have the integrity to put their heart and soul into the products before putting it on the market, instead of selling just for sake of selling.

So when a package arrived from the brand, I thought: "Okay why not let's just give it a go," and amazingly after a few weeks I kept on reaching for it more often than not.

Homegirl is Velvet Vanity’s 11th shade joining the Liquid Matte Lipstick’s range. Malaysian made, 100% vegan, and never tested on animals.

The formula is opaque, long-wearing and super lightweight. Based on my experience, it is definitely smudge proof but easy to remove to my micellar water. This retails only at RM59 for 6ml which could easily be a dupe for Huda Beauty's 'Trendsetter' liquid lipstick. Also when you reach out for a product so often and not realizing it, that just goes to show it is subconsciously very good and I'm impressed.
