5 Of The Most Outrageous Looks at Met Gala 2019

Since 1995, the Met Gala has been an event to look forward to as celebrities walk on the pink carpet showcasing their over the top outfits for the annual fundraising gala that benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in NYC. This year, the night was centered on the theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion." 

Okay, before we start talking about all the outrageous outfits from Met Gala, let us break down what "Camp: Notes on Fashion" is all about. First of all, it's has nothing to do with your campfire, camping and marshmallows. In a fashion context, Camp as explained by Sontag's writings as the "love of unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration... style at the expense of content... the triumph of the epicene style". If that doesn't make any sense to you, then just think exaggeration, lavish and extravagant, that's all.

Lady Gaga wearing Brandon Maxwell. 4 outfits change in one go, now that's an extravagant entrance ! Love the concept and the performance.. it's LIT ! But there's definitely room for improvement for the last outfit. It feels like watching a movie with a good start but with a terrible ending.
