MIU MIU Fall/Winter 2019

This Fall/Winter 2019, Miu Miu featured a collection of eco hero and romantic warrior. This collection is truly a mash-up of masculine and feminine, with some fairy tales and allegories, which often defined as the identity of a Miu Miu girl.

There are a few elements that you can see throughout the collection, one is the cape. Miu Miu has brought back the cape trend this season because as connotation of an academic style. The black velvet cape was often worn by the Venetians, traditionally the legend says that wearing this cape dreams could come true.

Other than that, camouflage print is also worn in the runway in the form of cardigan, scarf, jumpers and even Mary Janes, once girlish footwear got a camou makeover. The camouflage seems to be symbol of rebellion juxtaposed against feminine elements. And so, to balance the masculine side of the collection, Miu Miu added flowers and romanticism in different forms, be it hand-knitted crochet, printed on nylon and embellishments. The overall look is fun and empowering, especially the mishmash of masculine and feminine elements, but not all of them are a keeper. @MiuMiu
